Internship Requirements
The political science internship program is designed to provide opportunities for students to gain experience as well as practical knowledge about politics and public administration. On-the-job experience enables the student to discover perspectives that can augment academic courses.
This is an undergraduate program limited to political science, political communication, and public administration majors. The internship can provide from three to eight semester hours of credit. To receive three hours of credit students must work a minimum of 120 hours; for eight hours, a minimum of 320 hours.

Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an ability to successfully work in a public or non-profit organization
- Develop knowledge and skills relevant to employment in the public sector
- Demonstrate written communication skills concerning core concepts of public sector employment
Prerequisites
- Junior or Senior standing
- Completion of a minimum of 15 hours of Political Science coursework
- A grade point average in Political Science of at least a 2.50
- Departmental permission to enroll
