Student Social Work Association
The SSWA is a growing student organization from the Social Work Department full of students who want to learn more about the profession. The SSWA is open to both graduate and undergraduate social work students, creating opportunities for collaboration and connection across our programs. Bi-weekly meetings include guest speakers, peer support, volunteering, community engagement, and education. Members are eligible for leadership opportunities through executive positions within the organization.
Why should you join the SSWA?
- To learn more about social work
- To meet others with the same interests as you
- To get involved helping others both on campus and in the community
What is the time commitment?
The association holds bi-weekly meetings on an array of topics such as career exploration in social work, assistance with choosing classes and de-stress days before finals. We will also be involved in volunteer opportunities throughout the academic year. With no penalty for missing a meeting, you can choose which speakers or events you want to go to!
