Student Resources
Do you enjoy working with people and understanding them? Do you want to make a difference in others' lives? Then you may want to consider a social work major at the University of Northern Iowa.
If you're here looking for support, we've got you! Explore our student section for information on careers, internships, orgs, scholarships and more.
Get involved.
Our department houses the Student Social Work Association open to both undergraduate and graduate social work students.
SSWA provides opportunities for students who want to know more about the social work profession and actively help support our community.
Find support.
Looking for a little extra help? Have no fear! The Department of Social Work offers several scholarships for both BSW and MSW students. Apply for any and all through the one UNI Scholarship Application and/or review what options are available by clicking the button below.
Gain experience.
At UNI, learning outside-the-classroom is just as important as your time on campus. In social work, that means a required field placement as part of your program. This experience will help you build your resume, and help hone in on your preferred population to support (children, adolescents, aging adults, families, etc.).
We have partnerships with agencies locally, across the state, nationally, and even internationally.
