Rod Library
UNI's Rod Library offers support for nursing students, including access to CINAHL, APA guides, evidence-based databases and research consultations.
Purdue Owl
Students are encouraged to use the Purde Online Writing Lab (OWL) as a reliable resource for understanding and applying proper citation and formatting guidelines.
UNI Student Learning Center
The Learning Center @ Rod Library (TLC), located on the main floor of Rod Library, is staffed by nationally certified peer educators trained to assist students develop the academic skills necessary to be successful in college and beyond. TLC services are offered (free of charge) to all currently enrolled students.
Dean of Students Office
The Office of the Dean of Students values and welcomes all students, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for every member of our campus community. They provide assistance, advocacy, and guidance to students as they navigate their academic and personal journeys. In addition, they support faculty, staff, parents, and family members in their efforts to help students succeed.
Student Accessibility Services
Student Accessibility Services (SAS) believes that disability is a naturally occurring aspect of humanity's diversity and is an integral part of society and this University. We believe in working collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to provide accessible and equitable opportunities for all students.
SAS works with individuals with disabilities to determine the appropriate accommodations for both the Academic and Campus Experience as well as for University Housing & Dining. Students with disabilities are encouraged to connect with SAS to begin the individualized process of determining reasonable accommodations, based on the nature of the disability and the academic or living environment. The student's past accommodations history, personal narrative and supporting documentation related to their disability are taken into consideration when making accommodation determinations.
UNI Counseling Center
The University of Northern Iowa Counseling services includes 24/7/365 Open Call and Open Chat and telehealth individual sessions for the University of Northern Iowa students anywhere in the world, at any time of day or night. These services will enhance the mental health care which is offered by the UNI Counseling and Psychiatric providers available in the Student Health Center.
