Spanish & Community Health Minor
Through coursework in Spanish and public health, students will expand their language proficiency and cultural competency in Spanish and develop the capacity to improve the health of the general public through education, behavior change and improvement of the environment.
This 18 credit minor will prepare students to collaborate and work with Spanish speakers, using their language skills and knowledge to support the development of healthy communities.
The minor in Spanish and community health complements students’ academic programs in areas such as: public health, nursing, social work, family services, gerontology, pre-health programs, psychology, communication sciences and disorders, sociology, global health and humanitarian assistance, mental health, Spanish, and Spanish/English translation.
