An intersection of healthy activity and education began more than 125 years ago when the physical culture department was formed in 1892 at the University of Northern Iowa.

Today, a team of dedicated faculty, instructors, and professionals move that legacy forward. Throughout your journey, they help you navigate your college experience and reach your career goals.

Fabio Fontana, PhD has led the department since 2018.

Our faculty is fully dedicated to the success of the students in our program. The coursework will be demanding, but our faculty will be with you every step of the way.
