Previous experience:
I most recently children’s surgery program manager, leadership position that helped obtain the children’s surgery verification for quality improvement. Pediatric/adult operating room (I scrubbed and was a resource nurse for neurosurgery. Team Lead RN for burn and plastics. Then also was able to scrub smaller orthopedic and vascular cases.). Then also have worked on the pediatric hematology/oncology unit.
What brought you to UNI?
UNI’s program is newly established and is actively demonstrating to nursing students how innovative and forward-thinking the field of nursing can be. Coming from a clinical background, I strive to reflect that same spirit in my daily practice and guide students to apply these values beyond the classroom into their own evolving roles as nurses.
What are your interests?
Professional: fundamentals of evidence-based practice, normothermia, pain management, onboarding of new hires, and evidence-based simulation.
Personal: love to read, cook, crafting, and spending time with my family.
Research: Closed-loop communication and reoccurring events; Maintaining normothermia in the pediatric perioperative setting .
Teaching: I believe strongly in empowering students with the skills to critically evaluate evidence and apply best practices in clinical settings, ensuring high-quality patient care and innovation in nursing.
