“When I transferred to UNI, I decided to change my major to sociology. After meeting with the sociology faculty, I knew I would have plenty of career options right away. The classes within the major helped me narrow down my interests and find the career that would be most fulfilling to me.

As a Compliance Analyst, no two days are the same, which is what I enjoy about my job. I help conduct audits and compliance investigations, review and create policies, and ensure my organization complies with rules and regulations in the health industry.

I am constantly using the research skills I acquired while majoring in sociology! I can quickly and effectively research any issue that may arise. Sociology also helped me grow my critical thinking skills by helping me problem-solve and promptly identify solutions or resources needed to create them. My writing skills also grew significantly from my sociology major, and now I can comfortably write a report at work or communicate professionally with other colleagues.”
