Disa Cornish, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, Public Health
Disa Cornish is an associate professor in public health and education. Dr. Cornish received her PhD in health promotion and health education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health. She received her MS from the University of Iowa College of Public Health in community and behavioral health.
Before coming to UNI's Department of Nursing & Public Health, Dr. Cornish worked within the Department of Recreation, Tourism and Nonprofit Leadership, and as the program evaluation manager at the UNI Center for Social and Behavioral Research. She conducted applied evaluation and survey research on numerous grants and contracts through federal and state agencies, foundations, and non-profit groups.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Cornish is engaged in research on women's health, adolescent pregnancy prevention, child nutrition and obesity, mixed methods research and program evaluation.
