Previous experience:
I received my Bachelor’s of Arts from Central College where I double majored in Biology and Exercise Science while minoring in Chemistry and Mathematics. I then received my Master’s of Science in High Altitude Exercise Physiology from Western Colorado University. Lastly, I obtained my PhD in Exercise Science at the University of New Mexico.
What brought you to UNI?
Being born and raised nearby in Dubuque, IA, I have always been a fan of the Panthers and enjoyed the Cedar Falls community. I am already loving the extensive recreational opportunities such as kayaking, fishing, and running/ cycling trails. I also love the smaller classroom settings and sense of community within the university.
What are your interests?
I have always been an endurance athlete outside of the lab and classroom. I competed 7 years in the NCAA as a middle-distance runner, competing primarily in the 800 meters and mile. During my time at Western Colorado University, I was a Division II First-Team All-American in the Distance Medley Relay. I have also completed a marathon, Ironman 70.3, and a full Ironman triathlon. I also enjoy fishing and watching most professional sports.
