After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in social work from UNI, Allison earned a master’s degree in social work at the University of Iowa while working at Meskwaki Family Services, the Meskwaki Nation Tribe’s child welfare agency, as the Indian Child Welfare Act Coordinator.  

Allison then worked with Casey Family Programs and the Iowa Department of Humans Services as a faculty member on the Racial Equity Alliance while completing her master’s level practicum with Sandy Lint and the Community Partners for the Protection of Children (CPPC). In 2013, she transferred to Meskwaki Nation Child Support Services (MNCSS) and now serves as the Director of the Sac & Fox Tribe’s TITLE IV-D agency. 

Allison was awarded the Catherine G. Williams Lifetime Diversity Achievement Award in 2014 from the Iowa Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for making a difference in the lives of Iowa’s families. In 2016, she was the 2016 Recipient of the National Tribal Child Support Association’s Partnership Award for Professional Excellence for making a difference for Tribal families.
