Two-Year Foundation and Advanced Standing Programs:

The University of Northern Iowa M.S.W. Program offers a two-year (five-term) degree for students who do not have a bachelor’s degree in social work and a one-year (three-term) advanced standing program for those with a bachelor’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program*.

We also offer extended-enrollment options.  Extended-enrollment students must be able to attend classes at the times offered (3 hr. blocks) and be available for the field practicum. Most practicums take place at agencies that operate during regular business hours (9 am to 5 pm).

Enrollment and Concentration Options:

An extended-enrollment (part-time) option is available for Advanced Standing and Two-Year Foundation students. Extended-enrollment course plans will be developed on an individual basis. For an example of what an extended-enrollment plan might look like, please click here.
