Dr. Dickinson has extensive practice experience as a play therapist.  In addition to teaching, she operates a small private practice.  As a therapist, she specializes in working with current and former foster/adoptive youth as well as those who have experienced trauma.  She is trained in Adlerian Play Therapy and Animal-Assisted Play Therapy as well as other interventions, including EMDR and AutPlay.  Outside of social work, Dr. Dickinson has a ridiculous number of animals on her acreage, including dogs, cats, chickens, and bees.  She can work work Harry Potter into any conversation and longs to teach a class on Trauma, Social Justice, & Harry Potter.
