Why did you choose to pursue this degree at UNI?
I loved the large size of UNI in a smaller town. The campus is beautiful and I had heard great things about the Department of Kinesiology!

What kind of path did you take to achieve your degree?
I completed some job shadows in high school and immediately fell in love with the profession of physical therapy. Once I came to UNI, the Department of Kinesiology and the Cedar Falls community provided so many opportunities and experiences for learning, leadership and growth throughout my four years here. These have shaped me into the person I am today, and helped tremendously in the PT school admissions process.

What does completing your degree mean to you?
Completing my degree means that I am one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a physical therapist! I am sad to be leaving the Cedar Falls area, but I am excited for my next adventure at the University of Iowa.

How did UNI help you achieve your goals?
The faculty here at UNI have had the biggest impact on my education here. My professors are great at teaching and are always willing to go the extra mile when a student needs help. They are truly the reason I was able to excel in and enjoy my undergraduate classes.

What’s your best memory of your time at UNI?
My best memory from the past four years was attending the UNI Dance Marathon Big Event every year! I really enjoyed advocating and raising money for the Stead Family Children’s Hospital. I was even able to donate my hair at 3 of the 4 Big Events, which were unforgettable experiences.

What advice would you give to students considering UNI?
Ask your professors for help! They are always happy to answer your questions or re-explain a concept if you reach out to them.

What are your next steps?
I have been accepted at and plan to attend the University of Iowa this fall as a member of their Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
