Previous experience:

I am a former (2023-2025) Security and Defense PLuS (S&D+) Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University and received my Ph.D. in Political Science in Fall 2023 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to finishing my Ph.D., I was a 2021-2023 U.S.-Asia Grand Strategy Predoctoral Fellow at the Korean Studies Institute at the University of Southern California and Research Adjunct in the Defense and Political Science Division at the RAND Corporation.

What brought you to UNI?

I grew up in Iowa and am a proud graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. I am thrilled to return to the university as a faculty member and join the department which first sparked my interest in international security and area politics.

What are your interests?

My research includes topics of East Asian politics, military alliances, and nuclear security. I also enjoy studying Korean and spent the summers of 2022, 2023, and 2024 studying at the Korean Language Institute at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.
