How did you decide on your path of study?
My parents are both physical therapists, so I grew up around it and always thought it was very cool. However, I also love kids, so I wanted to do something with kids as well. When I realized I could specialize in pediatrics for physical therapy, I was very excited that I could combine the two. So I think that is what I will end up doing.
Why did you choose to pursue this degree at UNI?
It is pretty close to home, which I wanted. I also have lots of connections here, like my brother, who is a junior this year. I loved the environment and size of the school.
What challenges have you faced as you've worked toward this degree – and how have you overcome them?
I have had a very good experience so far, but one challenge I had this year was not being able to take all of the classes I wanted to because of scheduling conflicts with other classes.
What’s been your favorite memory at UNI?
My favorite memory was being able to meet lots of new people living in the dorms and having hall events like bleach dying shirts. I also really enjoyed going to the football games.
How has UNI helped you achieve your goals?
All of my major teachers have been extremely nice and supportive.
How has your experience at UNI shaped you?
Being at UNI has made me a much more independent person. Not only have I been living away from my family, but I have also had many self-paced online classes, so it has helped me to get better at holding myself accountable.
What advice would you give to students considering UNI?
It's always a great day to be a panther!
What do you plan to do with your degree?
I am planning to go on to PT school after getting my degree here. My dream is to someday be a pediatric physical therapist.
