Power to the Youth

The “Power to the Youth” fashion show, in partnership with the Waterloo Career Center, will be showcased during UNI Fashion Week on April 28th at 7:00 p.m. (CST). “Power to the Youth” is unique to Catwalk 29, as this show will be dedicated to providing the Cedar Valley youth with an opportunity to design a garment from start to finish. 

Designers include a collaborative team of students from the Waterloo Career Center, who will be mentored by students studying textiles and apparel at UNI. The inspiration behind the student designers’ creations will follow a theme of “What does youth mean to you?” and will be created using upcycled or thrifted garments and materials donated by the community.
