Deb Ackerson

Mrs. Ackerson began her position with the University of Northern Iowa, Department of Military Science in August 1996 and with the University in 1985.  Serving as the primary administrative assistant to the Department Head; providing continuity.  Formerly worked for the University Human Resource Department; City of Cedar Falls, Office of the Mayor; John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, Redevelopment Task Force; Department of Banking, Division of Finance Juneau, Alaska and with the Department of the Army, Secretary NCO Club, Spangdahlem Air Force Base, Germany. Professional development training classes taken through University of Northern Iowa; Hawkeye Community College and most recently Iowa State University.  Certificate programs completed Small Business and Black Hawk County Master Gardening.  Cadet Command Administrative Training Certificate courses taken at Fort Lewis, WA and Fort Monroe, VA. Volunteer activities include Black Hawk County ISU Extension Office; City of Cedar Falls; Cedar Falls Schools; Boy Scouts; Prairie Lakes Church to include a Mission Trip to Mississippi after Katrina.  Family includes husband Darrell and three sons Matt, Jeremy and James.
