My research and teaching integrates religious history and religious ethics to address questions in bioethics, ethics of emerging technologies, and relational ethics. My primary interlocuters are Knud Løgstrup, a Danish theologian and philosopher, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German theologian and pastor. Both thought deeply into religious, philosophical, and ethical questions brought to the fore by rise of the Third Reich in Bonhoeffer’s native Germany and amid Nazi Occupation in Løgstrup’s native Denmark.
