Professor Weisenberger taught History of the United States, U.S. History Since 1877, U.S. History from 1929 to 1960, History of Iowa, and History and U.S. Public Policy, which was a core course in the Graduate Program in Public Policy. She has taught The Iowa Experience; The Great Depression: A Transforming Experience; From Treaties to Speeches: U.S. Diplomacy Between the Wars, 1919-1941; and The U.S. Home Front During World War II in UNI’s Lifelong University program, and teaches U.S. History from 1929 to 1960 as a Guided Independent Study course through UNI’s Continuing Education.
Dr. Weisenberger’s research focused on policy issues and programs with a current interest in the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act as an example of federally-funded health programs. She retired in May 2019 and plans on writing alternative history in the future.
