Assistant Adjunct Professor of Counseling

 

Professor Renze empowers students to discover the strength within them to overcome adversity, enhance emotional well-being, build healthy relationships, and achieve academic success.

In addition to being an adjunct instructor at UNI, Professor Renze is a certified trauma and resilience trainer for the Central Rivers Area Education Agency. She is also a professional school counselor at Lincoln Elementary School in the Waterloo Community School District. Previously, she was a high school counselor and elementary- and middle-school teacher.

Professor Renze has received training in Adlerian play therapy, processing trauma and building resiliency, building trauma-sensitive schools, and animal-assisted therapy.

Professor Renze enjoys spending her free time with her children. She says they enjoy outdoor activities and can often be found hiking, biking, kayaking, and snowshoeing. They also love to travel, especially to national parks.
