Rebecca Lins
Assistant Adjunct Professor of Counseling
As a school counselor, Professor Lins is committed to building meaningful relationships and fostering a safe, supportive environment where every student feels seen and valued. Grounded in collaboration with staff, families, and community partners, she leads with a data-informed, developmental approach that addresses academic, career, and social-emotional growth. Through advocacy, she works to ensure fair access and opportunity for all students, empowering them to become resilient, compassionate, and prepared for success in school and in life.
Professor Lins is widely recognized for her leadership, expertise in comprehensive programming, and commitment to advancing school counseling and well-being practices. In addition to her role at UNI, Professor Lins is in her 20th year as a school counselor at Peet Junior High in Cedar Falls. She has also been a school counselor at Bunger Middle School in Waterloo and at the elementary school level in Des Moines. Previously, she was an adjunct faculty member at Upper Iowa University.
In her free time, Professor Lins enjoys reading, hot yoga, long walks, watching rom-coms and traveling with friends and family.
